This page allows you to compare the performance of two mobile network operators
at a time. Use the drop down lists at the top of the map views to select
Vodafone, Orange, T-Mobile or O2.
Once you have selected an operator, symbols will appear on the
map that indicate successful calls, failed calls and good and bad quality.
A successful call can be either a successful call set up or a successful call
completion. A failed call can be either an unsuccessful call set up or a
dropped call.
The map key beneath the maps indicates which symbols and colours are used
for these performance indicators.
Symbols will only appear on the map where drive tests have been carried
out. View the planned and completed routes page for information regarding
proposed drive test routes.
You can also view statistics that relate to these symbols for the
operators concerned. The statistics table will appear at the foot of the map
view and will include percentage good calls, percentage good voice quality and
number of call attempts.
Note that the statistics table will only appear if there is a sample size in
excess of 100 call attempts in the current map view. It will also only appear
if the current map view width is less than 10km. This means that you may need
to zoom in and pan around the map view before it is possible to view the
statistics table.
You can view a printer friendly version of the compare mobile networks page by
pressing the button situated above the top right hand corner of the maps. When
printing use landscape page orientation for best results.
